Before we start your journey together, here's a little more about mine.
About Me
I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and the founder of Empowering Steps Counselling. I use an integrative approach combining Person-Centred support, Psychodynamic insight and CBT techniques, as well as Inner Child, Hypnotherapy, Creative and Play Therapy. Working with a range of different modalities means I adapt to what suits YOU best.
I work with adults, children and young people, supporting a range of different needs, issues, challenges and experiences. My aim is always the same: To create a safe, supportive environment where you can feel heard, understood and empowered to take meaningful steps forward.
As an accredited registrant of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCS19-0878), I work in accordance with their ethical framework and boundaries. I have an Enhanced DBS and undergo regular training and supervision to ensure both personal and professional development.
Background
I am passionate about supporting young people, and prior to becoming a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, I worked in schools providing classroom, group and one-to-one support with a focus on SEN, Neurodiversity and Social, Emotional and Mental Health. As well as a background in Project Management.
I'm human too
As the counsellor, it's not about me, it's about you so I don't often make self-disclosures unless it serves to benefit you as part of your own healing process. However, it might make you feel at ease to know that I, too, have sat in your seat and had my own personal therapy. It's nothing to be ashamed of.
