Walk & Talk Therapy
Take your thoughts for a walk one mindful step at a time.
A different kind of therapy space
Walk & Talk therapy offers the same care, confidentiality and depth as traditional counselling – just outdoors.
Moving side by side can make it easier to talk. The gentle rhythm of walking often helps untangle thoughts, while being in nature can soften what feels heavy or stuck.
The science behind it
Being outdoors supports emotional and physical wellbeing in many ways.
Natural light helps regulate serotonin, the “feel-good” chemical linked to mood and balance. Gentle movement releases endorphins, easing tension and reducing stress hormones. Even slow, steady walking can calm the nervous system and help you breathe more deeply, in body and in mind.
Nature’s gentle support
Nature has a language of its own: shifting clouds, steady ground, new growth. Sometimes these surroundings help us find words for emotions we’ve struggled to express indoors. It can feel grounding, spacious and quietly healing.
No pressure, no pace
It’s not about fitness or distance; the pace is led entirely by you. Whether we stroll through a park, wander woodland paths, or simply sit on a bench, the focus stays the same: you, your story, and what you need in that moment.
You don’t have to be a hiker or particularly outdoorsy. Walk & Talk therapy suits anyone who feels more at ease outside, or simply wants to try a gentler, more natural setting for therapy.
One step at a time
If you’re unsure whether Walk & Talk therapy is right for you, we can talk it through together. What matters most is finding a space where you feel safe, supported and free to be yourself, wherever the path leads.
Locations
I am happy to travel within a 20-mile radius of Braintree, Essex (further considered for a small charge). This means I can cover areas such as Chelmsford, Colchester, Witham, Earls Colne, Halstead and Sudbury to mention just a few. Exact locations to be discussed individually.
